The NAAD Sound Therapy Level I course will be held at NAAD CENTER and the schedule will be:
June 12-14, 2026: 10:00 am - 5 pm (with a 1-hr lunch break each day)
For the first time, NAAD CENTER is offering a three-day beginner’s sound therapy training course taught by Certified Sound Therapist Catherine Polisi, which will take place June 12-14, 2026 (10:00 AM to 5:00 PM each day). This course will introduce individuals who are interested in becoming sound therapists to the principles and practices of sound therapy and sound meditations.
Participants will explore the science of sound, frequency and vibration; get a firm understanding of the history of sound therapy; learn about and understand what is cymatics and why it’s important; review the healing benefits of sound therapy; and gain hands-on experience with resonant instruments from around the world. The course combines lectures, demonstrations, practical sessions, and group discussions to provide a comprehensive foundation for aspiring sound therapists.
This Level 1 course will include the following topics:
Foundations of sound & frequency
The history of sound healing around the globe
Physics and the science of sound
What is Cymatics and why is it important to understand
Healing benefits of sound
Sound healing case studies
Sound therapy and the mind-body connection
Creating the right environment for sound healing
Introduction to resonant instruments and how to properly play them
Trauma-informed considerations for sound therapy
Sound therapy for neurodiverse individuals
Training on all sound healing instruments: gongs, bowls, chimes, and many other instruments from around the world
No prior experience or training is required to take this course—just an interest in music and sound and learning how to help the body heal using frequency and vibration.
